LANETT- Lanett police responded to Cherry Drive on Monday morning in reference to a shooting. Lanett Police issued a press release shortly afterward.
“At approximately 8:58 PM Eastern Time, officers with the Lanett Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Cherry Drive in reference to a report of a female who had been struck by gunfire.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a local trauma hospital for treatment. Her current condition is not being released at this time.
The scene has been secured, and the incident remains under active investigation by the Lanett Police Department.
