On Friday, the Lanett Girls basketball team left no doubt as they defeated LaFayette 59-20 in the AHSAA 2A Tournament Semi-Finals thanks to balanced scoring, and a dominating defense.
Senior MaKiah White had another monster game leading the Panthers with 10 points, 21 rebounds, and 8 blocks.

Lanett Girls Head basketball Coach Charlie Williams was pleased with the attention to detail and focus from his team.
“We are simply applying what we work on in practice and as a coach that’s all you can ask of your players and they are starting to do that”, said Williams.
Lanett also got tremendous from Seniors Tyra Jackson, Christiana Brock as well as the young girls who are playing as seasoned veterans.
“Some of these girls are 7th graders and are stepping out here with grown varsity players and competing at a high level. They are so young, so coachable and they love defense”, added Williams.
The Lanett Girls will play Reeltown on Monday for the Area Championship.
