CITY OF LAGRANGE, GA. JANUARY 29, 2025 – The LaGrange Fire Department was dispatched on Tuesday, January 28, at 3:42 PM to 123 Cox St, for the report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, the first unit reported smoke visible. Engine 4 initiated an interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. Truck 32 conducted search operations, but no occupants were found. Other fire units provided assistance, and the fire was contained in the kitchen area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damage to the home is estimated at $10,000.
The LaGrange Fire Department encourages everyone to keep all interior doors closed when at home or away. Closed doors can help prevent the spread of smoke, fire, and heat within a residence.
