Early Friday morning Valley Police responded to a fatal shooting of a LaFayette man in the Shawmut community.
“This morning at approximately 1:40 A.M., officers of the Valley Police Department were called to a residence in the 3200 block of 19th Avenue in reference to shots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 29-year-old Christopher Perry of Lafayette, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses reported that Perry and another person had been involved in a physical altercation just prior to the shooting. Two weapons were recovered from the scene along with several expended shell casings”, said Valley Police Chief in a press release.
Valley Investigators are gathering statements from all involved parties and will be consulting with the District Attorney’s office for guidance during the investigation.
