Montgomery – On Monday, two prominent teams with a strong championship pedigree in boys’ basketball faced off, competing for a spot in the Final Four. The LaFayette Bulldogs and the Lanett Panthers went head-to-head, with LaFayette ultimately emerging victorious, defeating Lanett 45-38 and securing their place in the Final Four.

The Bulldogs will move on to the Final Four in Birmingham, where they are set to face the Red Bay Tigers on March 2, with a tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EST.

In the earlier game, the girls’ Elite 8 match-up, the Lanett Lady Panthers delivered a dominating performance, convincingly defeating Highland Home 40-27. With this win, they secured their spot in the Girls AHSAA 2A Final Four in Birmingham. Head Coach Charlie Williams’ team will face Cold Springs on March 2nd, with a tip-off at 4 p.m. EST.
