Jud Sands, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama on December 26, 2024. Born July 28, 1958, in Langdale, Alabama, and raised in Riverview, Jud was a cherished figure the Beulah community. He brought light and warmth to everyone he met with his kind and generous spirit.

Jud’s love for sports and community was evident through his active involvement in Beulah athletics. He took immense joy in coaching his son, Ayden, in various youth sports, dedicating countless hours to volunteering and supporting local sporting events. His enthusiasm for the games was infectious, and he was often found in the stands, proudly cheering for the Beulah Bobcats and witnessing Ayden’s basketball and baseball triumphs. Beyond the local fields and courts, Jud was an ardent fan of Auburn University.

Jud’s journey through life was marked by the love he shared with his family. He is survived by his sister, Jo Lyn Sands; his son, Ayden Sands; and his granddaughter, Ashley Abney. Jud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie Sands; his parents, Philip and Carolyn Sands; and his sister, Martha Berry.

Jud’s life was richly blessed with kinship, friendship, and a community grateful for his generous contributions. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the vibrant local sporting culture he helped foster. His memory will be treasured as a source of kindness, a friend to all, and a devoted family man. Jud Sands’ radiant smile and amiable nature will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
