Joe Lewis “Big Joe” Jenkins, Jr.: Funeral service for Joe Jenkins, 69, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Dr. Mary C. Holland will officiate.
Mr. Jenkins, who passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born on August 11, 1956, in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Linda Jenkins of Auburn, AL; three children, Valerie (Darrell) Banks of Western, PA, Laura Jenkins (Lamar Barnes) of Newark, NJ and Joe Lewis Jenkins III of Auburn, AL; seven grandchildren, Marquel Jenkins of Auburn, AL, Darrell Jr and Aniyyah Banks both of Western, PA, Merrissa Barnes, Joshua Barnes, Christian Barnes, and Amira Jenkins all of Auburn, AL; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest (Mary) Jenkins of Orange, NJ and Edward Douglas of Connecticut; one aunt, Bessie Holder of Connecticut; five brothers-in-law, Richard (April) Holland of Lanett, AL, Roger Young of Hartly, DE, Gary (Diann) Young of Albuquerque, NM, James Young of Opelika, AL, and Allen Lockhart of Bloomfield, NJ; three sisters-in-law, Juanita Holland of Springfield, NJ, Glendia Young (Charles Berry) of Montclair, NJ and Sonya (Mark) Stewart of Jackson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
