VALLEY – On Saturday, the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the inaugural Clover and Cole’s Battle of the Badges at Shawmut Airport. First responders took to the grill to compete for the title of the best barbecue in town.
It was incredible to see our community come out and support our first responders as they battled for bragging rights. Local responders prepared pulled pork, ribs, and chicken, working hard in preparation for this event. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts in making this community event a success.
Attendees enjoyed 18 varieties of delicious barbecue and live entertainment. The winners, selected by a panel of judges, included the East Alabama Fire District team, which came close to a clean sweep by winning first place in the Chicken, Ribs, People’s Choice, and the BBQ Grand Champion categories. The Chambers County Drug Task Force team took first place for Pulled Pork.
