November 10, 1940 ~ November 4, 2025 (age 84)
Donald Jay Coleman, a steadfast pillar of love and kindness, departed this world on the 4th of November 2025, at the age of 84. Born on the 10th of November 1940, in Roanoke, Alabama, he carried the values of hard work and family devotion throughout his life, and his passing in Opelika, Alabama, marks the conclusion of a life well-lived and cherished by many.
Donald was known for his unwavering work ethic, a trait that endeared him to both his colleagues and those under his wing. He was a guiding force to his family and friends, always ready to offer support or a helping hand. He was an avid Alabama football fan, a passion that he carried throughout his life, often found cheering on his beloved team, surrounded by friends and sharing this joy with his grandsons.
He possessed an immense love for his family, a testament to the kind of man he was – loving and kind at his core. Donald is survived by his daughter, Debbie Stevens and her husband Tim; daughter-in-law, Gina Coleman; grandsons, Matt Coleman and his wife Ashley, Brent Folds and his fiancé Angela, Spencer Folds, Jay Coleman and his wife Tatum, Barrett Folds and his wife Katie, Jesse Coleman and his wife Kelsey; and seven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Donald was met in passing by his cherished wife, Barbara Coleman, who preceded him in death. Alongside Barbara, he was greeted by his parents, Jay and Gladys Coleman, and his son, Donnie Coleman. Their reunion is a solace to those he has left behind, imagining them together once more.
Throughout Donald’s life, the words ‘loving’ and ‘kind’ were not just descriptors but the very principles he embodied. His legacy is one of love, respect, and the simple, profound joy of rooting for his team on a game day. More than anything, Donald will be remembered for the love he showered upon his family and the respect he received from all who knew him. His was a life that touched countless others, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
As the sun sets on a life rich with moments of shared joy and unconditional love, we bid farewell to Donald Jay Coleman, knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His influence and the memories he created will be treasured for generations to come.
Graveside services for Donald will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EST) at Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. Interment will follow in Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery. Brother Jimmy Allen will officiate.
