October 27, 1954 ~ March 8, 2025 (age 70)

David Wayne Langley of Wadley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 70 in Notasulga, Alabama, surrounded by family and friends. Born on October 27, 1954, in Langdale, Alabama, David’s life was a testament to the joy and laughter he brought into the world.

David’s early years in Langdale were filled with the warmth of a close-knit community and the loving guidance of his parents, Marion Ann and David Wade Langley, who preceded him in death, as did his sister, Linda Lee.

His life was enriched by the bonds he shared with his surviving family members: his spouse, Gerald Wade Ledbetter Langley, Sr.; his children, Heather Langley and Sky Langley; and his sisters, Wanda Harper and Betty Langley Smith.

David’s infectious spirit also touched his nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends who will dearly miss his presence. A man of compassion and dedication, David pursued a career that allowed him to care for others. He became a Certified Nursing Assistant and later worked as a Security Guard, where he was a beloved member of the Arbor Springs Health and Rehab community. His colleagues and those under his care will remember him as a wonderful caregiver who always went above and beyond to ensure the comfort and happiness of others.

David’s interests and hobbies were as vibrant and varied as his personality. He had an enduring love for animals, especially sloths, dogs, and elephants, which brought him immense joy throughout his life. His love for dance was evident to anyone who saw him move to the music, and his laughter was contagious to all in his presence. David was also known as a jokester, always ready with a prank to lighten the mood and bring a smile to someone’s face.

David’s legacy is one of love and laughter, and his memory will continue to be a source of comfort and joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter will echo in the hearts of his loved ones forever, and his spirit will continue to dance among us. David’s life was a journey filled with love, care, and an abundance of joy, and he will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

As we honor his memory, we hold close the lessons of kindness and joy he imparted on us all. Rest in peace, dear David; your legacy will live on in the countless lives you’ve touched.
