Danny Lewis Sims, 59, of Dadeville, Alabama, passed away on February 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Danny was born on May 9, 1966, in Dadeville, Alabama, to Roy and Willene Sims.

He was the proud owner of Danny Sims Painting for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman. He was a devoted member of the Dadeville Church of God. His walk with his Lord was one of his strongest and biggest attributes. He never missed an opportunity to spread the love and gospel of his Lord and Savior.

Danny was truly a man devoted and focused on his family. His wife, 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson were always his top priority, and he loved them with his whole heart. He took great pleasure in making everyone around him laugh. He loved a good joke and was always full of joy, laughter and love. Any time you would see him, he was always smiling.

Danny is survived by his wife, Ruth Mitchell Sims; sons, Josh (Destiny) Sims, James Sims; stepdaughters, who he loved as his own, Erica (Dustin) Mann, Rachael (Scott) Pennington, Rebeccah (Justin Jackson) Haynes; grandchildren, Caleb (Elizabeth) Marshall, Hunter (Madisyn) Phillips, Courtney Sims, Marlo Pennington, Olivia Pennington, Cameo Sims, Keaton Manies, Jamison Sims, Kolten Manies, Abigail Sims, Maddie Haynes; great grandson, Colson Marshall; his stepmom, Gayle Sims; brother, Tony (Peggy) Sims and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Sims, his mother, Willene Sims and brother Gary Sims.

A memorial service to celebrate Danny’s life will be announced in the coming days.
