LANETT – On Sunday, Springwood’s favorite cowboy, Luke Moon, signed a rodeo scholarship with Missouri Valley College. The ceremony took place at the school, with classmates, friends, family members, and others present to show their support.

Moon began competing in rodeo at the age of 14, following in the footsteps of his father, Josh, who also participated in rodeo and remains active in the sport. In addition to his rodeo pursuits, Moon is a standout baseball player, currently in the midst of his senior season.

His favorite event is bull riding, and he expressed excitement about joining the team at Missouri Valley. After the ceremony, he spoke to local media about his focus on rodeo competition.

“I work out and make sure my body’s in shape, so I’m ready for the rodeo. I just try to put in the hard work,” Moon said.

He is eager to elevate his competitive rodeo career.

“I’m looking forward to college rodeos and building a bond with my teammates and coaches. I’ve already become close with many of my coaches, and I know some people who are already on the team. I’ve built a relationship with them,” added Moon.
