Charles Alton “Al” Myers Jr., 68, of LaFayette, Alabama, passed away on February 6, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Chambers County, Alabama, on August 19, 1957, to the late Charles and Carolyn Myers.
Al owned and operated Myers 1 Stop and later worked and retired from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department. Al was an avid Alabama fan. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Lanett, Alabama.
Al is survived by a son, Buddy (Fran) Groover of Lanett, 4 grandchildren, Chelsea Groover, Colby Groover, Logan (Hannah) Groover, and Ryan Groover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Dianne Myers.
A Graveside will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.(EST)/ 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Oakwood Cemetery, 1462 1st St., Lanett, Al 36863, with Reverend Mitch Hamilton officiating. Family will receive friends at the cemetery prior to the service.
