Chambers County Sheriff’s Deputies Respond. To Fatal Incident

CHAMBERS COUNTY AL.- Friday morning Chambers County Sheriff Deputies responded to a gunshot incident on County Road 548 that sadly turned out to be fatal.

“On January 16, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Chambers County deputies responded to a 911 call on County Road 548.

Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased a 46 year old white female with a gunshot wound to the head. At this time, it is believed that the gunshot wound was self inflicted. The victim has been identified but we are unable to release her name at this time. Her body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy”, said the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department .

This investigation is ongoing by the Criminal Investigation Division. Lanett EMS and the Chambers County Coroner’s Office also responded
