Bobby Ray Parker, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in the Beauregard Community, Bobby was a man deeply rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Whether he was tending to his business, caring for his cattle, or lending a helping hand to his neighbors, he exemplified commitment and an appreciation of those around him.

Above all, his greatest joy came from his family. He treasured every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom he loved deeply and unconditionally.

Bobby was a pillar of the Beauregard Community. He was a lifelong, devoted member of Providence Baptist Church, where his presence and quiet strength will leave a lasting impact. In 1957, he and his beloved wife, Shirlene, founded Parker Grassing, Inc., a business built on service and integrity. He faithfully owned and operated the company until his retirement in 2020, leaving behind a legacy that continues through his family to this day.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Mayberry Parker, Ernest Marion Parker and Clara LeMerle “Merle” Parker; his brother, William A. “Billy” Parker; his sister, Willie Ann Parker Pierce; his grandson, Gregory Wesley Clark, Jr.; and his cherished wife of 69 years, Shirlene Etress Parker.

He is survived by his sisters, Louise Parker Plott, Nancy Parker Smith (John), and Joann Hollingsworth (Bill); and his brother, Randall Parker (Wanda). He is also survived by his children, Teddy Parker, Renee Parker, Teresia Parker Clark (Greg), Bobby Ray Parker, Jr. (Gina), Stephanie Parker (Dennis Ellington), and Tim Parker (Joanna).

Bobby’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Holli Parker Thomas (John), Dallas Grigsby, Nicole Clark Armstrong (Kyle), Clay Parker, Jordan Grigsby Thrower (Brandon), Hannah Parker Perez (Alex), Brett Parker, and Brody Parker; and his great-grandchildren, Nikki Parker Golden, Mariah Thomas, Hayes Armstrong, Harper Armstrong, Gunner Grigsby, Parker Grigsby, Wynn Perez, Reese Perez, and Walker Thrower.

A visitation will be held at Providence Baptist Church, East Campus, on Tuesday, March 24, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following, officiated by Dr. Rusty Sowell. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bobby’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and the community he called home his entire life. The stories, memories and love that he shared with those that knew him are a testament to a life lived in service of others and the Lord.
