October 28, 1953 ~ November 15, 2024 (age 71)

Mrs. Beverly Ann Hay Smith, age 71 of Valley, met her Savior face to face on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Mrs. Smith was born on October 28, 1953, in Langdale, Alabama to the late Ira J. Hay and Ivarene F. Hay. Beverly, also known as B, Aunt B, Boot, Bev, Sissy, or friend, loved her Lord, her family, and her friends whole heartedly.

She was a long-time member of Shawmut Nazarene Church

h. Anyone fortunate enough to be loved by her could find a handwritten card in the mail at any given time, complete with stickers. She never forgot anyone on any occasion. She would always say, “I’m praying for you,” or “I love you,” and meant every word.

Beverly loved her cats, Auburn football, The Rifleman, Braves Baseball, caffeine free Diet Coke, and graham crackers.

She was a genuine, caring individual and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 10:00am EST, with service immediately to follow at 11:00am at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral home chapel in Valley with interment in Fairfax Cemetery.

Rev. Sam Wood and Rev. Tim Campbell will be officiating.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Don Smith; siblings Barbara (Dick) Swank, Jenny (Bob) Johnson, Jud Hay; special caretakers niece Lynn (Jon) Martin, nephew Samuel (Larisa) Wood, niece Joy Hay, nephew Bobby Johnson; several other nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and several special friends. She is also survived by her furry feline, Kandi. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ivarene Hay; sister Betty Sue Blanks; brother Paul Hay; nephews Jonathan Wood and Adam Treadwell; cats Jip, T, Thomas, and Mandi.
