On Saturday, Beauregard High School hosted the Glenn Copeland Open at the Beulah track. This event marked the first time the school held a meet featuring 15 schools from East Alabama. The participating schools competed in a variety of events, including sprints, relays, hurdles, long-distance running, long jump, triple jump, discus, javelin, and pole vault.

“When we were planning the meet and realized that our track was being renovated, I started considering alternatives. I reached out to the coaches at Beulah, and since they had never hosted a track meet before, I thought this would be a great opportunity for both us and Beulah. We agreed to hold our home track meets on their track, allowing us to share revenues. This way, Beulah can gain experience in hosting meets, and we can continue our season,” said Beauregard’s head track coach, Ty Ford.

Beauregard is hopeful about returning to host events on their own track next year. “This will help Beulah spread their wings and eventually host meets of their own,” Ford added.

Dadeville was the overall winner for the boys, and Russell County took the title for the girls.
