April 7, 1929 ~ March 22, 2025 (age 95)
Annie, known to most as Madie, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear sister. She was a light in the lives of all who knew her, and her love for God and family will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
To those who knew her, their fondest memories with Madie were filled with laughter, good food, Springtime flowers, and the warmth of her stories about her life.
Her family will always cherish Christmases at her house singing carols, playing games, and spending the evening with hearts full of love.
Madie’s life was dedicated to her family, faith, and her home which was always open to all with a warm smile and open arms. Though we hate to see her leave, she was at peace, ready to sit at the feet of Jesus and reunite with loved ones who had gone before her.
Madie was the loving matriarch of a family that cherished every moment with her. She is survived by her caring daughters, Brenda Austin and Teresa Flournoy; her son, Jimmie (Kathy) Hattaway Jr.; and her grandchildren, Michael Hattaway, Selena Hattaway, Christy (James) Brantley, Scott Flournoy, Terri Flournoy, and great-grandchildren, Savannah Hattaway, Raylee Chadwick, Heavyn (Evan) Brantley, Kensly Flournoy, Madison (David) Austin. Madie was a dear sister to Jean Rice and Avis Rice, and a beloved guardian to Cole Moore and Beth Moore, who fondly regarded her as a second mother. Reunited in peace with her late husband, Jimmie L. Hattaway Sr., her son Garon Tidwell, her grandson Jeffrey Austin, and her son-in-law Joe Mack Austin.
