On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 2:05 a.m., the West Point Police Department responded to a barricaded gunman located at Happy Hollow Apartment 23, in West Point, Harris County, Georgia.

The caller, Kaliah Chambers alleged that her boyfriend, Jarquavious Jamerious Williams was holding her and her two children, a three (3) month old and two (2) year old  child against their will.

According to Chambers, she and Williams had gotten into a verbal and physical altercation, after Chambers attempted to leave the residence.

During the altercation, Williams brandished a weapon, and barricaded the door to the residence and was alleged to have stated that he would, “kill anyone that came or attempted to enter the residence, including the police”.

A perimeter was established at Happy Hollow Apartments by the West Point Police Department. It was determined that due to the alleged statements made by Williams and the fact that he had barricaded the occupants inside the apartment, Lagrange Police were contacted regarding tactical assistance of their Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

Pending the arrival of LaGrange Police SWAT, ongoing communications were made with Chambers via text messages.

While responding officers of the Lagrange Department were ongoing, Williams telephonically contacted a family member and suggested that he willingly surrender to police.

Shortly thereafter, Williams exited that apartment front door and surrendered to West Police and was taken into custody without incident.

During the search of the apartment, an AR style pistol was recovered with a loaded thirty (30) round magazine.

Willaims was arrested and charged with one count of the following: Battery FVA, Aggravated Assault FVA, Cruelty to Children 3rd, FVA, Possession of firearm during certain crime, False Imprisonment, and Terroristic Threats.

Williams was transported to the Harris County Jail in Hamilton, Georgia.
