Local Fire Department’s Respond Fire on County Road 388

Upon arrival, the first unit observed a large area burning, with the fire rapidly spreading towards multiple residential structures and portable buildings due to wind direction. At 17:53, command staff reported the fire under control.

The Alabama Forestry Commission was contacted and created a firebreak around the perimeter to stop the spread of the fire.

Smoke is expected to be present in the area for the next few days.

An estimated 30 to 35 acres were burned.
