OPELIKA, Ala. –On December 30, 2025, the Opelika Police Department began investigating an attempted fraud.
The individual reported that 58-year-old Tammy Renee Caudle had been attempting to take out a $150,000 Home Equity loan on a property owned by her husband. She attempted to forge her husband’s identity on numerous occasionsto secure the loan. Opelika Police spoke with the husband, who had no knowledge of the loan.
On December 31, 2025, Tammy Caudle was arrested for Residential Mortgage Fraud, Second Degree Forgery, and Bribery of Public Servants. She was booked into the Lee County Jail.
