LAFAYETTE- This past weekend, cowboys and cowgirls put on a show in front of a two-day packed house from the Chambers County Agricultural Arena for the 27th Annual Chambers County Sheriff’s Rodeo.

The weather was about as perfect as one could ask for for the first of April as the community gathered and watched some of the best rodeo action in the South East.

“This was an awesome year and everything went great. The crowd and the participants were just fantastic. “, said Chief Deputy Mike Parish.

This year’s rodeo generated an estimated $20,000 at the gate and combined with a big sponsor year, the rodeo could very well see a profit of over $40,000.

“This is good clean American fun. It starts with the National Anthem and a prayer, and what more American can you get than that? We use the funds from the rodeo to purchase equipment for the Sheriff’s Department and we will post online how your money’s spent so you will know what we are buying for our deputies”, said Chambers Sheriff Jeff Nelson.

The Chambers County Sheriff expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, vendors, and the community for making the 27th annual Chambers County Sheriff’s Rodeo such a big success.
