On Saturday, the streets of downtown LaFayette were filled with community spirit as they lined up to see the Hometown Christmas Prade featuring over 40 entries.

This year’s Grand Marshall was Faye Seroyer, Vice President of Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home who was had an enormous impact on the city since the 1950’s.

LaFayette Mayor Kenneth Vines followed Seroyer as the parade rolled through LaFayette. Other participants included local schools such as LaFayette High School and Chambers Academy. Lochapooka High School in nearby Lee County also participated. The crowd was thoroughly entertained with performances from all the schools.

The parade highlighted a day that included Food Trucks and other festivities. Local businesses also benefitted from traffic and saw huge days.

“This was just fantastic, and we are thrilled with the turnout. The community was really united, and we could not be happier”, said Deanna Hand, Executive Director of Lafayette Main Street.

The parade concluded with Santa Clause who rolled in on the LaFayette Fire Truck.
