Opelika Woman Charged with Murder

On 07/13/2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Opelika Police Department responded to an assault in the 600 Block of Comanchee Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a crashed vehicle and the female driver suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

During the investigation, 35-year-old Tempest Vanshay Reese was identified as a suspect and is now wanted on charges of Murder.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. that evening, Tempest Vanshay Reese turned herself in at the Opelika Police Department. She was arrested for murder and taken to the Lee County Justice Center.
