Jeannie Louise Taylor, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away in the warmth of her home in Cusseta, AL, on May 12, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on September 6, 1957, in Marietta, GA, Jeannie lived a life characterized by love, kindness, and generosity, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Jeannie is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Taylor; her sons, Justin Grant and Alexander Grant; her brother, Mike Smith and his wife, Kathy; her sister, Tracy Jo Smith; her brother-in-law, Rusty Moore; her cherished grandchildren, Carter Grant and Camden Grant, as well as numerous adoring nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie Lee and Martha Smallwood; father, Jimmy Smith, her sister, Cathy Moore; and her brother, Frazier Smith.
A vibrant soul with a passion for the beauty of nature, Jeannie found peace and joy in her flower garden, a haven where she spent countless hours cultivating life and color. Her creativity extended to her love for making jewelry and flower arrangements, each piece a testament to her artistic spirit.
Above all, Jeannie’s most treasured moments were those spent with her family, whether it was spoiling her grandchildren or simply sharing quality time with her loved ones. Her affinity for animals was evident in the deep love she had for her cats and dogs, creatures who, along with her family, were the recipients of her endless affection.
Jeannie’s legacy will live on in the hearts she leaves behind. Her unwavering kindness and generous temperament will continue to be an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her.
Graveside services for Jeannie will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EDT) at Beulah Baptist Cemetery in Valley, Alabama. Pastor Ronnie Jordan will officiate.
