 January 22, 1968 – April 28, 2025 (age 57)

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce that our beloved brother, George Christopher Ogle — known affectionately to all as Chris — has gone home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2025.

Chris was a Godly man whose life quietly radiated faith, kindness, and peace. He walked humbly with God, embodying the spirit of the Scripture he loved: “Put on the full armor of God.” (Ephesians 6:11) His steadfast heart, gentle ways, and enduring faith left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him.

Chris had a deep love for the beauty of creation. Nature was his refuge. In the whisper of the trees and the stillness of open skies, Chris found communion with God and a peace that reflected his own serene spirit. Music also stirred his spirit — from the joyful rhythms of old skating rink music to the soulful beats of 70s classic rock, disco, gospel, and soul. The melodies he loved so much now sing on in our memories. His life had its own music, a quiet song of love, faith, and kindness that now plays on in all of us.

He was a quiet man, yet his love was loud in its loyalty. Chris’s bond with his family, especially his sisters were unbreakable — a sacred love only siblings can truly know, a tie that time nor distance could ever break. A bond woven with laughter, tears, memories, and the shared language of hearts that understand each other without words. In Chris’ life, it shone brightly, a true testament to a heart full of loyalty, compassion, and understanding.

Though the pain of his loss is great, the blessing of having loved him is even greater. Our gratitude is even deeper for the gift of Chris’ life, for every moment of tenderness and for the blessed assurance that he is now whole, free and wrapped forever in God’s perfect peace. We remember Chris not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave so freely, the peace he carried, and the faith he walked in every day.

Chris was preceded in death by his spouse Sarah Watts Ogle. His parents Faye B. McLeroy and George W. Ogle. Ernest McLeroy and Eddie Bland were like fathers to him. His grandparents Magdleane Richardson Myers, Alton Blanton and his adopted grandmother Mildred Tingle Blanton Fowler of Cowpens, SC.

Survived by his children Christin Ogle Dunn (Steven) of Savanah, GA, his son Stephen Christopher Ogle (Mary) of Opelika, AL, both of whom he loved with all his heart. His grandchildren Breelyn and Kadyn Dunn, Lucian and Tempest Ogle. His Sisters Kathy Ogle Hornsby, Angelia Ogle Weldon, his cherished niece and nephews, Lindsey Clifton (Logan), River Weldon, Hunter Hornsby, and Ashton Weldon. His beloved uncles Julian Myers (Donna) and F.M. Myers (Debbie). A host of cousins that he loved and shared much of his life with. And many friends that he cared deeply for.

He takes with him a part of our hearts!
