Matthews Tapped as New Springwood Head of School

The Chattahoochee Valley Educational Foundation Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the hire of Springwood School’s new Head of School, Mrs. Allyson Langley Matthews. She is no stranger to Springwood. Mrs. Matthews is an alumna (Class of 1983) and a mother to three Springwood graduates. She taught science at Springwood before serving as the High School Director.

In recent years, Mrs. Matthews has held an assistant principal and principal position in local public schools, most recently as principal of Eastside J.P. Powell Magnet School in LaFayette. During that time, Mrs. Matthews continued to serve Springwood in a variety of ways – for some time as a board member, as a parent volunteer, and as an alumna. She is a Wildcat through and through.
