On Sunday, May 26th, there were two separate dog attacks in the Fairfax community. The first incident occurred at approximately 4:35 A.M. when Alesha Michelle Dawson was attacked in the 200 block of US Highway 29. A passing motorist saw the attack happening and was able to scare off the dogs and take Dawson to the hospital. The second attack was reported at 9:52 A.M. in the 90 block of River Road.

Dustin Jerrold Hobbs was walking on the Rails to Trails when he was attacked. The dogs were scared away by a passing motorist and Hobbs was taken to the hospital.

The dogs in both cases were described as brindle Pitbull and a Rottweiler. It is unknown if these are feral animals or if they belong to someone in the area. Officers have increased patrols in the area and Animal Control has set out several traps. Residents of the Fairfax community are asked to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings if they need to be outside.
The City of Valley is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to the apprehension of these animals and the identity of the animals owner. If they are spotted, please call 911 immediately.
If anyone has any information on who may own these animals, please contact the Valley Police Department at 334-756-5200 or the Valley Area Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP,1-833-AL1-STOP, or email at www.215stop.com.
