February 24, 1963 ~ March 10, 2025 (age 62)

Robert “Bobby” Parrish, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left us peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on February 24, 1963, in Langdale, Alabama, Bobby’s journey through life was marked by dedicated service, kinship, and a zest for adventure, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Encircled by the love of his family, Bobby passed away at his residence, closing a chapter on a life well-lived.

Bobby devoted over 32 years to protecting his community as a career firefighter with both the East Alabama and Phenix City Fire Departments. His unwavering commitment to public service was paralleled only by his love for his family. Bobby leaves behind his beloved wife, Dianne Parrish, who stood by his side through life’s countless joys and challenges, and his cherished children, Nick Parrish and Stephanie Owsley (married to Michael). Bobby’s legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Peyton and Katie Owsley, and Mason and Ella Kate Parrish, all of whom will miss their beloved grandfather. He is also survived by his brother Mike Parrish (Amy); his three sisters, Patricia Ficquette (Benny), Linda Griffin, and Susan Wallace (James); as well as his sister-in-law, Lane Marberry (Neal), and mother-in-law, Norma Ainsworth. An extended family of several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also mourn his departure. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Rexs Parrish and Dorothy Ogle Parrish; mother-in-law, Sandra Butler; and fathers-in-law, Larry Ainsworth and Phillip Butler.

An active member of Fairview Baptist Church, Bobby’s faith permeated his life and actions. His interests showcased his love for the open road and the great outdoors—running, horseback riding, motorcycling, camping, and boat rides were among his favorite pursuits. Moreover, Bobby had a craftsman’s touch and appreciated the simple joy of building things with his own hands.

Courageous, selfless, and thoughtful, these words capture the essence of Bobby’s character. His was a life that illuminated the essence of community and togetherness. Bobby Parrish’s story is not just one of a life concluded, but of a spirit that continues to inspire and guide us in every selfless act and moment of bravery embraced.
