City of Valley Host 30th Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

VALLEY- On Saturday, the City of Valley held the 30th annual Arbor Tree Giveaway as the Valley Tree Board gave away an estimated 400 trees as huge crowds formed outside Valley City Hall on a beautiful Saturday morning.

The City of Valley has now been a Tree City for 30 years, something the city is very proud of.  The Tree Initiative was started by former Valley Mayor Arnold Leak and former City Clerk Martha Cato as a way of beautifying the city. Tree Board President Suzie Britt spoke on the importance of being a Tree City USA member and the impact it has on the community.

The day was highlighted by the attendance of the youngest member of the Valley Tree Board, 14-year-old Milner Letson, also known as the Abel Gardner, who was there with his parents, Jacob and Jade Letson.
