Shiver Named Lanett Interim Fire Chief

LANETT- On Monday the Lanett Council unanimously voted to name Longtime Lanett Firefighter/Paramedic Matt Shiver as Interim Fire Chief. Shiver has been with the Lanett Fire Department for over 21 years and will step in as interim fire chief following Jamie Heard, who retired earlier this month. Heard was named chief last year following the passing of Johnny Allen who passed away on August 12th, 2024.

Shiver’s career began in 1996 and he will be the interim fire chief until November when the council will vote on a permanent post as Lanett Fire Chief.
