August 28, 1962 ~ December 6, 2024 (age 62)
Troy Scott Templeton (“Scotty,” A.K.A. “Fluffy”) Age 62, of Valley, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2024. Born to Troy Denson Templeton and Betty Jean Merritt Templeton, Scotty lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished relationships.
He is preceded in death by his father, Troy D. Templeton; mother, Betty J. Merritt Templeton; sister, Donna Jean Templeton; and brother, John Wesley Knowles.
Scotty is survived by his loving wife, Linda Deloach Templeton; daughters, Melanie N. Dickinson (David), Amanda K. Templeton (Zane Trillet), Kimberly Templeton, and Kelly Templeton; sons Phillip Bryan (Emily) and Justin Bryan; and his cousin/brothers, Ronald Murphy and Mark Perryman. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Jordon Wallace, Hayden Wallace, Morgan Bryan, Keria Trillet, Hunter Bryan, and Alek Trillet, as well as many other beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Scotty dedicated himself to his work and community. He worked at John Soul Food in Valley, Alabama, for three years and served for ten years at Lakewood Senior Living, also in Valley. Additionally, he gave ten years of service to J.A. Lett, where he left a lasting impression through his commitment and hard work.
Scotty also leaves behind an extended family who became like his own: Slightly Twisted, Fransico and Tabatha Lopez, Leah Johnson-Skeie, and many cousins. His presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Scotty’s life will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, at 2:30 PM (EST), at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pastor Blake Lockhart will officiate. Scotty’s family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. The family invites all who knew and loved him to join in honoring his remarkable life and legacy.
