It is with heartfelt warmth and remembrance that we share the news of Brenda McCormick Bleskoski’s peaceful passing on November 24, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 24, 1944, in the close-knit community of Langdale, Alabama, Brenda, known affectionately by her name, spent her final days surrounded by the love and comfort of her family in Valley, Alabama.

Brenda’s vibrant journey through life was one marked by an effervescent spirit and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Her 59-year marriage to Joseph Bleskoski was a testament to true companionship and enduring love. She was a foundation of strength and joy for her children, Becky Mathis (Steve) and Nancy Brown (Tracy), and her affection knew no bounds when it came to her beloved grandson, Will Brown. Brenda also found kinship and camaraderie with her sister, Melba Rodgers, and a host of nieces and nephews. Her family cherishes the memories they hold, tales of Brenda’s charisma and love enlivening their recollections.

Before her retirement, Brenda’s warmth greeted many at the Farmers & Merchants Bank, where she was much more than a teller—she was a friend. Her sparkling personality made every interaction memorable, whether sharing her notorious dirty jokes or extending a helping hand with a heart full of kindness.

Brenda’s zest for life was evident in her passion for crafts, from crocheting to ceramics, most notably with her beloved concrete duck, which she whimsically adorned in seasonal attire. Her legacy as a Girl Scout leader, Band Booster, and, most importantly, the cherished “Golden Child’s” grandmother resonates with all whose lives she touched.

Described by those who knew her as friendly, kind, and loving, Brenda never met a stranger and readily offered help to all. She was truly a spitfire, her red hair a beacon of the fiery spirit within. Brenda McCormick Bleskoski’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and the countless lives she brightened.
