Auburn Woman arrested for shooting into an unoccupied vehicle

Auburn, Ala. – On July 6, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Montgomery Police Department, arrested Ja’nya Simone Maddox, age 20, from Auburn, Alabama, on a felony warrant charging her with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.

The arrest stems from the Auburn Police Department responding to a call of shots being fired in the 100 block of Cone Street on July 6, 2024. While at the scene, officers located a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.

Ja’nya Simone Maddox was developed as a suspect. After further investigation, Maddox was placed under arrest for shooting into an unoccupied vehicle and transported to the Lee County Jail to be held on a $5,000 bond.


All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
