OPELIKA, Ala. – The City of Opelika is transitioning from Neumo (formerly known as Avenu Insights & Analytics). Effective November 1, 2026, the Alabama Department of Revenue assumed responsibility for the administration and collection of sales, consumer/sellers use, rental and lodging taxes for the City of Opelika.
Information for Business Owners and Taxpayers:
• Beginning with November 2026 tax period, all tax returns and payments must be filed electronically with the Alabama Department of Revenue via their online portal, My Alabama Taxes (MAT) at https://myalabamataxes.alabama.gov.
• If already registered on MAT, ensure that the locality code for City of Opelika (9663) is properly linked to your local account.
• Tax returns remain due on or before the 20th day of the month following the reporting period to be considered timely. (For example, November 2026 taxes are due on or before December 20, 2026 at 4 p.m. CST).
