Opelika Water Addresses Cybersecurity Threat Concerns

Earlier this year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) alerted water utilities to specific cybersecurity threats and recommended protective measures. Opelika Water had already removed our operational systems from internet exposure before that guidance was issued. We continue to follow recommendations from the EPA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the FBI while closely monitoring for potential threats.
