On Tuesday, with an estimated turnout of seven to eight percent, voters braved the rain to cast their ballots in runoff elections in East Alabama and West Georgia. Here are the results:

In Alabama’s House District 37, Jeff Monroe decisively won against John Jacobs. Monroe will face Michelle French in the November general election. District 37 encompasses parts of Lee, Chambers, and Randolph counties.

Levi Richardson was elected as the Chambers County coroner, defeating Glenn Johnson in a very close race, with Richardson receiving 52.5% of the vote.

In Troup County, Georgia, April Loftin won the Troup County Commission chair race against the incumbent, Lewis Davis.

In Alabama state races, we can confirm the following results:

– Barry Moore won the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate, defeating Jared Hudson. This seat is currently held by Tommy Tuberville.

– Everett Wess won the Democratic runoff for U.S. Senate, defeating Dakarai Larriett.

– John Wahl won the Republican runoff for lieutenant governor, defeating Wes Allen. Wahl will face Phillip Ensler in the November general election. Will Ainsworth, who currently holds the seat, is not seeking re-election.

– Katherine Robertson won the Republican runoff for attorney general, defeating Jay Mitchell. Robertson will face Jeffrey McLaughlin in the November general election.

In Georgia state races, we have the following results:

– Rick Jackson won the Republican runoff for governor, defeating Burt Jones. Jackson will face Keisha Lance Bottoms in the November general election.

– Mike Collins won the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate, defeating Derek Dooley. Collins will challenge incumbent Jon Ossoff in the general election, along with independent candidates Elbert Bartell, Chris Capparell, and DeVelle Jackson.
