Maria Elena Lopez de Villatoro, known lovingly as Maria, passed away on May 11, 2026, in LaGrange, Georgia, at the age of 82. Born on June 24, 1943, in San Salvador, El Salvador, she lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and deep love for her family. She is remembered as a faith-filled, loving, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around her.

Maria was a devoted Christian and a steadfast Catholic whose beliefs guided the way she lived each day. Her faith was not simply a part of her life, but the foundation of it. She carried herself with grace and kindness, and she was known for the quiet strength she offered to others. Those who knew her will remember a woman who valued prayer, family, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.

Family was at the center of Maria’s world. She is survived by her children, Julio Roberto Villatoro Lopez, Lessly de los Angeles Villatoro Lopez, Maria Elena de la Merced Villatoro Lopez, Lourdes Eugenia Villatoro Lopez, Wendy Patricia Villatoro Lopez, Cecilia Lisseth Villatoro Lopez, and Claudia Alejandrina Villatoro Lopez. She also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren, including Julissa Alejandra Villatoro Sibrian, Gerson Moises Mendoza Villatoro, Enrique Alfonso Mendoza Villatoro, Jerry Orlando Villatoro, Carols Valencia Villatoro, Wendy Paola Aldana Villatoro, Josue Manuel Aldana Villatoro, Rodrigo Andre Aldana Villatoro, Fatima Margarita Villatoro Villatoro, Daniela Lisseth Villatoro Villatoro, Raul Ernesto Villatoro Villatoro, and Andre Ernesto Villatoro Villatoro. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Danae Parrish, Joshua, Adrianna, Jase Aldana, Rubi, Nahomi Mendoza, Tristan, Elijah, and Alivia Valencia.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patrocia Lisseth Villatoro Lopez; and her son, Fernando Benjamin Villatoro Lopez.

Maria found joy in the everyday moments that brought people together. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, going to parties, and spending time with her family. These interests reflected her vibrant spirit and her appreciation for connection, celebration, and beauty. Whether she was tending to her garden, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, she made ordinary moments feel special.

As her loved ones mourn her passing, they also celebrate a life well lived. Maria Elena Lopez de Villatoro will be remembered not only for the years she lived, but for the love she gave, the faith she carried, and the family she cherished. Her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched.

A visitation for Maria will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. She will be buried at a later date in Parque Memorial La Bermeja in San Salvador, El Salvador.
