Mr. Al J. “Blu” Ellis, 50 of Opelika, AL, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL, with Rev. Douglas Jones, Sr., officiating.
Burial will follow in Essie J. Hany Cemetery in LaFayette.
Mr. Ellis leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Chiquita Ellis of Opelika, AL; a loving stepfather, Velpo Buckhanon of Opelika, AL; his children, LaParish Ellis and Alontavious Ellis, both of Opelika, AL, Essence Ellis of South Carolina, Amotri Ellis of Baltimore, MD and Bronx Royal Ellis of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Zaidyn Ellis, Kashton Ellis, Levi Ellis and Payton Ellis; four brothers, Alonzo (LaPorsha) Ellis, Lawrence(Audrey) Wright and Kieran Russell, all of Opelika, AL and Jamel Meadows of Opelika, AL; one sister, Tania (Fredrick) Ellis of Opelika, AL; special niece and caregiver, Simone Ellis of Opelika, AL, special nephew, Stantavious Phillips of Opelika, AL; uncles: John Wesley Ellis of Lanett, AL, Hurbert (Tracey) Ellis and Wilford (Ruby) Ellis, both of LaFayette, AL, Jimmy Blake and Rickey Blake, both of Opelika, AL and Clarence Wright of Atlanta, GA, three aunts, Annie (Albert) Spence and Janice Satterwhite, both of LaFayette, AL and Deloris Brocks of Opelika, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
