MONTGOMERY- Last week several Chambers County leaders were invited to be part of the Governor’s Awards Luncheon as Alabama PALS ( People Against A Littered State) held their awards ceremony, and Chambers County was one of three Alabama counties receiving a Governor’s award.
Alabama PALS is a 501 C-3 Not-for-Profit, a statewide organization dedicated to providing and implementing anti-litter programs for all Alabama counties, cities, communities, schools, and other groups striving to enhance their environmental and economic impact through a litter-free, cleaner, and more beautiful environment.
Chambers County was recognized for outstanding achievement in keeping our county clean. An initiative so many worked hard on. From our local schools to county leaders, Chambers County exceeded expectations.
Chambers County was also recognized for being one of two counties in the state having a grades K-3 poster contest winner, grades 4-6 poster contest winner, a clean schools contest winner, as well as having Adopt a Mile participation and being a county Governor’s award winner.
