OPELIKA, Ala. – It was a great day for the new Miele Manufacturing plant in Opelika. The German Consul General of the Southeast Mrs. Melanie Moltmann came to town to learn about Miele’s first production site in the United States. It was her first visit to Miele after its start of production in fall of 2024. Her visit was accompanied by Mr. John Sweatman of Opelika’s Economic Development Department and Mrs. Tine Hoffmeister from the AlabamaGermany Partnership. The visitors were shown six fully operating assembly lines where 30-inch, 36-inch and 48-inch ovens and ranges are produced solely for the North American market, and its impressing processes how Miele’s high-quality standards are ensured. Miele recently announced its 10,000th unit left the Opelika plant.
“We are thankful for Mrs. Moltmann’s visit,” said Ulf M. Kranz, CEO of Miele Manufacturing in Opelika. “It gives us confidence that we are on the right track to establish Miele as a reliable manufacturer, employer and business partner for the community.”
