OPELIKA, Ala. – City of Opelika Mayor Eddie Smith is excited to announce a new automotive manufacturing operation coming to the city. GMB USA Alabama Inc., a global manufacturer of automotive components, will establish a new facility in Opelika with an initial investment of more than $9 million and the creation of 75 new jobs.

“GMB USA Alabama Inc.’s $9 million investment and 75 new jobs strengthen Alabama’s position as a leader in automotive manufacturing,” said Ellen McNair, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “We’re pleased to welcome GMB to Opelika and appreciate their confidence in Alabama’s skilled workforce and business climate.”

The company will locate its new operation at 95 Orr Avenue in the Orr Industrial Park, further strengthening Opelika’s growing manufacturing sector and expanding the city’s role in the automotive supply chain.

“GMB’s decision to locate in Opelika is another strong endorsement of our community, our workforce, and our commitment to supporting industry,” said Mayor Eddie Smith. “This $9 million investment and the creation of 75 new jobs will provide new opportunities for our residents and further strengthen Opelika’s position as a key manufacturing hub in Alabama.”

He also states that going forward, GMB will strive to provide customers with the highest quality and reliability, while also growing together with the citizens of Opelika.

The new facility will support GMB’s automotive component manufacturing operations and will help meet the increasing demand from automotive manufacturers across North America.

GMB is an international company with decades of experience manufacturing automotive components for major global automakers. The Opelika facility will help support the company’s continued growth while contributing to the region’s expanding automotive manufacturing ecosystem.

Automotive parts produced at the Opelika plant are used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which combine internal combustion engines with electric motors. These precision components enhance vehicle performance, reduce energy loss, and contribute to increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

GMB is contributing to the creation of a more environmentally friendly transportation system by supporting the advancement of hybrid and electric vehicle technology. GMB is also committed to producing high-quality automotive parts that contribute to improved energy efficiency and the advancement of eco-friendly mobility.

Through this investment in Opelika, GMB aims to further strengthen its position in the US market and build long-term partnerships with local communities and the automotive industry.
