Elizabeth Francine Sanders Tucker, of Opelika, AL, was born May 22, 1961, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late John Frank Sanders and Katherine Olivia Sanders, and passed away on March 28, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama.

She graduated from Opelika High School in 1979, attended Southern Union, and completed Paralegal School located in Boca Raton, FL, in 1989. She had worked for the late Charles M. Ingrum, Sr., Attorney at Law, and enjoyed helping the public. She went on with public service employed by Lee County Judge of Probate, Hal Smith, and Bill English; and continued her public service with the Lee County Revenue Commissioner, Oline W. Price.

Francine enjoyed finding humor in difficult situations and enjoyed making other people smile. She loved spending time with her sons, cross stitching, rug braiding, gardening, reading her Bible, and she loved all the dogs in her life that gave her laughter, love, and comfort.

She is survived by her two sons, Bradley Chandler (Lindsey) of Auburn; and James Travis Tucker (Randa) and granddaughter Elizabeth Marie of Opelika; her sister, Roxanne Daughtry (Carey) of Opelika, their children, Christy (Jason) Smith of Sulphur, LA, Natalie (Chris) Downs of Opelika, AL; great nieces, Samantha and Sara Smith and Chloe Downs; her uncle, Harold (Barbara) Dickey of Montgomery, AL; and numerous extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Frank Sanders and Katherine Olivia Dickey Sanders of Opelika, AL, her grandparents, Wallace C. Sanders and Willie Dale Howard Sanders of Opelika, AL, and Woodrow W. Dickey and Olivia P. Anthony Dickey Credle of Opelika, AL.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Spencer Cancer Center, UAB Lymphoma Program, her oncologists, doctors, nurses, friends, and extended family members for all the encouragement cards, texts, and calls from people who cared and loved her. Especially a deep heart thank you from her sons to their Aunt Roxanne for the love and attention she gave to their mom.

A celebration of life will be held on April 18, 2026 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
