Hooper Academy Rallies, Defeats Chambers Academy 7-6

Hooper Academy edged out Chambers Academy 7-6, giving the Colts a big win over the Rebels.

Chambers Academy jumped on top, but that would not be enough as the Colts rallied back.

Brewer Garvin grounded out, which helped Hooper Academy Varsity Colts tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Chambers Academy Varsity Rebels jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Sam Smith singled, scoring two runs, Peyton Yerta grounded out, scoring one run, and Eli Whorton singled, scoring one run.

Hooper Academy would take the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Brewer Garvin and Cope Russell, which would prove to be the difference.

Garvin and Russell each collected two hits for Hooper Academy, and each drove in three runs for the Colts. Hooper.

For Chambers Academy, Hunter Andrews led Chambers Academy going 2 for 3 at the plate.

The Rebels will look to get back on track on Friday as they  welcome the  Hope Christian Academy Varsity Saints on Friday.
