A remarkable season rolls along for the unbeaten Valley Rams, who beat Demopolis 72-44 on Monday in the Central Regional Semifinal in Birmingham. Leading 19-13, Valley outscored Demopolis 14-3 in the second quarter to build a 33-16 lead, and it continued to pull away in the second half.

“Hats off to the kids who have been preparing for this since last year. This group has bought in from day one. This is a great team win. From execution to the commitment to defense, and rebounding, which translated to good offensive possessions. We’ve got fifteen players playing as a team and I could not ask for anything better”, said head coach Marshon Harper.

Valley will carry a 30-0 record into Thursday’s Central Regional final against Central of Clay County, with tip-off set for 11:45 a.m. in Birmingham.

“We are trying to reach that ultimate goal and win a title. We are trying to put our mark on Valley High”, added Harper.

A win and Valley would advance to the state semifinals on March 1, with the Class AAAAA championship game set for March 4.

Valley is looking to reach the final four for the first time since 2001 and their first State Championship in school history.

” I feel like if we keep playing the way we are playing and don’t focus on our personal stats, but rather our team’s goals we can make it all the way”, said Valley’s Cam’ron Dooley.

Congratulations to head coach Marshon Harper and the Rams on everything they’ve accomplished so far, and best of luck the rest of the way. It’s been a memorable ride for the Rams, and they’re a long way from done.
