One in Custody Following Report of Opelika Apartment Active Shooter

On Wednesday, March 25, at 10:56 a.m. CST, the Opelika Police responded to a report of an active shooter at Arbor Place Apartments on Fox Run Parkway. Upon their arrival, officers found one victim in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. One suspect is currently in custody.

In response to the situation, four Opelika City Schools were placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of the students. The lockdown was lifted once it was confirmed that the suspect was in custody.
