VALLEY – Logan Seymour went 3-for-4 as the Valley Rams triumphed over the Childersburg Tigers, 7-4, on Saturday. Seymour recorded singles in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.

In addition to Seymour, Valley’s Matthew McDonald, Kade Riley, and Mason Yarbrough had strong performances at the plate.

Childersburg was the first to score, with L. Calhoun hitting a single and later crossing home plate in the first inning. The Tigers built on their early lead by scoring twice at the top of the third inning, putting them ahead 3-0.

Valley answered back with timely hitting, managing to tie the game after three innings. Childersburg regained the lead in the fifth inning with a manufactured run, making the score 4-3.

However, the Rams rallied to reclaim the lead in the bottom half of the fifth and added extra runs in the sixth inning to secure the victory.

Matthew McDonald was the winning pitcher for Valley, allowing only eight hits and four runs over seven innings while striking out six batters and walking one. Calhoun took the loss for Childersburg.

Valley will now face Handley in Game 2 of a Saturday doubleheader.
