Funeral service for Ruby Cole, 88, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Auburn A.M.E. Zion Church, 576 Martin Luther King Drive, Auburn, AL, 36830, with interment in Westview Cemetery, 700 Westview Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832. Reverend Stephen Faulk will officiate.
Mrs. Cole, who passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born April 18, 1937, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Cole will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, William “Bill” (Betty) Maddox of Birmingham, AL, Angie (Willie) Jackson and LaCarlos (Jonanee) Maddox both of Auburn, AL; fourteen grandchildren, Courtney (Tonya) Maddox, LaTosha Maddox, LaTrell Maddox, Anita Maddox all of Auburn, AL, Shakia “Duke” (Patrey) Hardnett, Adrianna Butler, Akemia Butler all of Opelika, AL, Cartavious (Victoria) Thomas, LaKayla Thomas both of Dallas, TX, Kalia White, Kia White, Kyle White all of Detroit, MI, Carlos (Priscilla) Maddox and Monica Maddox both of San Bernardino, CA; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
