Mrs. Gussie Lue Vines, 88, of Opelika (formerly of LaFayette) died Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 11322 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, LaFayette at 12:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Gary Dixon and Rev. Jerone Fannin officiating.
The remains will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. (CST) until the funeral hour. The interment will be in Garden Hill Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL. Public viewing will be on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CST) at Vines Funeral Home Chapel.
