The East Alabama Fire Department responded to the Express Oil Change on Friday evening regarding a fire at the new business in Valley. EAFD issued the following press release regarding the fire to the Chambers Ledger on Saturday.
“East Alabama Fire District received the report of a structure fire at the commercial business of Express Oil Change on 20th Ave. in Valley around 8:45 pm Friday night 9/6/2024.
EAFD units arrived on the scene within minutes, to find heavy smoke coming from the business. Entry was made by crews and an interior fire attack was initiated, and the fire was extinguished.
The structure received heavy smoke damage throughout, with the fire damage contained in a small area of the business”, said EAFD Deputy Fire Chief Jacob Geiger.
There were no injuries reported. The cause is under investigation.
